History

A Strong Legacy:

Richard Love Sr. established Love Insurance Agency in 1950. He began his career as a captive agent working for Michigan Mutual Insurance Company. In 1950 he became an independent agent, working out of his friend’s basement until he moved into his first office on Noble Road in Cleveland Heights. He started Love Insurance Agency selling personal lines and small commercial insurance and eventually the agency grew into large commercial insurance specializing in the transportation industry.

As his business grew, so did his family. The father of eight boys, Richard Love Sr. turned his business into a legacy for his children and grandchildren. In 1974, Richard Love Jr. joined his father in the insurance business, followed by Robert, Paul, James, Bill, Philip, Michael, and John. Today, Love Insurance Agency remains a family run business including Robert, Paul, James, John, Robert’s daughter Carrie, and James’s daughter Heidi.
